Read on to learn more about the creator behind PostFactum Florals, Karen who also happens to be a co-founder of Tucson Handmade.
I started making sustainable decor because I was inspired by my sister and her wedding! She wanted to have a low-waste barn wedding. I made upcycled fabric floral centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres and other decor. It was a long project but I loved it and wanted to continue making sustainable decor.
My work is multimedia, made mostly from previously used materials and found objects.
I spend a lot of time searching for the right color and texture combinations. Then I cut, sculpt, fasten and look at my pieces from all angles to make sure they are aesthetically pleasing and I enjoy every minute of it!
I can see my pieces as home, commercial and wedding decor. I think it would be suitable for salons, shops, cafes and minimalists homes. They would also work well for rustic or cottagecore themed weddings.
What I love about Tucson:
There are many things to appreciate but I love living in such a creative town!
